CHARITY HANDBALL TOURNAMENT

27th-28th of August

St. Mellans Handball Courts

St. Mellans Handball club have agreed to host a charity handball tournament in aid of CANCER RESEARCH. The tournament will consist of 64 players from all across Monaghan, Tyrone, Armagh and perhaps further a field. There will be an initial round of 32 timed games with the losers proceeding to the shield and the winners to the cup. After Saturday’s games the tournament will be down to the last 16 with the outstanding fixtures to be played on the Sunday.

The entrance fee is €20 and every penny of the proceeds will go directly towards Cancer Research which I’m sure you agree is a very worthy charity as there are over 20,000 new cases of cancer and over 7,500 cancer deaths in Ireland per year.

Interest in the event is high with some high profile players from across Monaghan and the surrounding border areas already signed up.

The weekend promises to be a great spectacle for handball within our county and our near neighbours. Food will be provided for all throughout the weekend.

Anyone interested in partaking in the tournament are asked to contact Eoin on 047-87358, 087-2932697 or 0044-7805725460
