Jubilee Celebrations: Sunday evening 1stJune 2008 marked the beginning of our Jubilee Year celebrations.  It began with the blessing of the stand by Fr Cathal Deery and then the official opening which was performed by one of the clubs founder members Canon Tom Breen. Canon Breen spoke of his pride in how the club had developed from its humble beginning back in 1958.  He praised the hard work and dedication of the club members over the years in making this possible.  Also in attendance were founder members Sean Finn, Celestine Mc Kenna and Jimmy Mc Kenna. Following this there was the Peadar Treanor Memorial Tournament were Truagh played Emyvale which seen the return of a few familiar faces wearing a Truagh jersey.  This was played in good spirit were Truagh came out winners.  Later in the evening presentations were made to the founder members of the club by Sean Mc Cague which took place in the new extended clubhouse and followed by dancing to Gerry Cunningham.
